First real life testing day Slot Booking App successful thanks to WFS, DHL Global Forwarding and Nippon Express!

On Wednesday September 6, the BRUcloud Slot Booking App reached its next milestone: testing in real-life! All slots between 8AM and 10PM for freight delivery and pick-up at the warehouses 709 and 712 of WFS, were booked by the Forwarders DHL Global Forwarding and Nippon Express using the Slot Booking App. The app matches the requests for truck loading and offloading with the availability of time slots at the Ground Handler and proposes an alternative slot if no match can be found. This smoothens the freight delivery and pick-up at the facilities of the Ground Handler, eliminates waiting times for the Forwarder and makes BRUcargo more efficient.
Based on the first feedback of WFS, DHL Global Forwarding and Nippon Express, the life testing day was a real success. No technical nor functional hurdles were discovered and the use of the app in real-life created immediate better insights in the planning for both the Ground Handling Agent and the Forwarders. This gives the confidence in the Slot Booking App an enormous boost. In the meanwhile our partner Nallian is making the application even more user friendly and is already developing new features.
The next step in our roll out planning is scheduled on September 20. This time, a second Ground Handling Agent, Aviapartner will be included in the test. When successful, further roll out is scheduled as of October 1st.
